As part of a project initiated jointly with other hotels, members of AHRIMaction, Veranda Palmar Beach Hotel has been financing a major environmental-improvement campaign on the island’s East Coast.

In October 2009, a specialist company was asked to undertake an initial six-month operation to smarten up the 25 km stretch of coast from Trou d’Eau Douce to Belle Mare. The project specifically aims to beautify the beachfront areas of a coastline which is renowned for its tree-lined greenery and very popular with both local inhabitants from neighbouring villages and numerous tourists.
